Create PDF Files with OpenOffice

These instructions are the same for PC and Mac.

  1. From within your OpenOffice file, go to File > Export as PDF.

  2. On the General tab select either Lossless compression or JPEG compression with a Quality of 100%.
  3. Reduce image resolution to 300 dpi.
  4. Select PDF/A-1.


  5. On the Initial View tab select Page only.
  6. Select Default for both Magnification and Page Layout.

  7. On the User Interface tab deselect everything EXCEPT All bookmark levels.
  8. On the Links tab deselect everything EXCEPT Default mode under Cross-Document links.
  9. On the Security tab do not select any options.
  10. Click Export.
